Owning a gun makes you statistically less safe than not owning one.  Partly because you are energetically attracting violence to you, just by having one.

This is the lamest classic talking point ever.  

Guns are designed to do the maximum damage, quickly, from a distance.  Obviously.  There's never gonna be "mass stabbings" that are remotely as devastating as mass shootings.

@Jonas Long yea but the point is that murder still happens. And targeting the weapon used instead of getting to the root of why they commit crimes is silly imo. 

 

If people are beating each other to death in the 1000s should we cut all their hands off?

The more guns, the more violence.  It's not rocket science.  Yes, let's do everything we can to minimize murder.  One very good place to start is less guns.

That's not true, the murder rate in the past was far higher than nowadays, and they had swords and shields in the middle ages.
