Think about the kind of resentment that builds up when this is believed. The left and right both did fucked up stuff. There was antifa and the riots where people died, there was the capitol hill riot. Hence, both sides can get crazy if pushed to the extreme. Democrats wanting to help the poor or oppressed does not equate to burning buildings, how does burning buildings help the poor or oppressed? It hurts them.
