How to help your forum rise above lowest common denominator internet bullshit

With threads about pickup, and porn being bad, and just the general bottom of the barrel "internety" talk and subjects.... why does this kind of thing infect the entire internet?  How can we make it so the overall subject matter is elevated beyond these cultural dregs?  There is every other forum on the internet for these subjects, why?  I suspect it has to do with the swamp this forum grew out of, but can it actually grow out entirely from the swamp?

What I like about integrating "the creator" is you're concerned with what you're creating and not so concerned with what others are thinking or doing.  This isn't the only way to be, but it's useful when you're tempted to be concerned with what others are doing that bugs you.   If you're minding your own business you don't have time to be worried about what everyone else is doing so much.  You're worried about what you're creating and what vision you're working into or trying to manifest.  This is probably going to sound like BS to most people but it's a mindset that I've worked on that actually gave me some ah-ha! moments and integration to where it improved my life.  I don't argue with people so much now.  It's mostly irrelevant.  I'm the creator.  Not a creator, the creator!

@Phil what?  He said he felt bad about watching it, like it's dehumanizing or something.  Its a way to actually humanize the people in it.  I'm not against talking about any subject, just the reiteration of the standard demonization talking points that are all over the goddamn place.

Is it because it's a "new" thing that makes sex work much more safe, lucrative and accessible that it doesn't seem like it fits in the lowest denominator category in your opinion?

Yeah, maybe.

I forget I just don't relate to a lot of people now.  I think there's a conversation to be had, but I don't want to have it here.

You decide to let in stuff that offends you.  You don't have to direct your attention to things that offend you.  You have to pick your battles.  Expecting everyone else to suit you is kinda immature and controlling.  I do this too but I'm not proud of it and try to stop myself from doing it.  Don't allow things to take away your happiness.  If others are acting in ways that you don't like, look at something else.  Nobody has control over your attention.  Or go do something else for a while, that works often too.  Let people be free to be.  I look back at stupid stuff I did too, but I did it.  How can I be against it if I did it too?  So, you know, you have to tolerate all of reality to a degree and realize reality ain't here to suit you.  Kids make a lot of noise and I hate that -- but that's what kids do!  You can't hate them for that.  Kids love noise, and the older you get the more you hate noise.   Go figure on that one.  Screaming and yelling is super fun for kids lol and banging on stuff too.  Instead of telling them to shut up I just move somewhere else.  George Carlin had a great quote, "if you don't like what's on the TV, you can change the channel."

There's a saying in Christianity - Forgive them because they do not know what they do.

So basically I'm an autistic INFJ BPD sigma Pisces female with anger and CPTSD issues. Wow wow.

My plate looks full. I Couldn't have been weirder than that. Now I get why I'm so idiosyncratic.
