Any thought that references "I" or feels limiting or consctricting. Quote Mention ♾️
Joseph Maynor
I don't consider visualizations thoughts. Thoughts can be put into language. Thought has a cognitive aspect to it. This cognitive aspect we can call its meaning. Every thought has a meaning or it wouldn't be recognized as a thought. Gotta feel for the inner discord. Self referential thoughts bring a feeling of constriction that goes inward, aligned thoughts feel more outward. Take some time to pray for someone's benefit or appreciate something that isn't "you" and you'll feel lighter. Quote Mention ♾️
Phil
1 hour ago, WhiteOwl said: The self is a discordant belief. The question was: how do you define self ref thoughts. The separate or second self is thoughts which feel discordant. The term “self referential thought” only applies to discordant thoughts. A self referential thought is a thought about a self, which is not the awareness aware of the thought. A ‘second’ or ‘separate’ self.
