@Phil things have cleared up significantly. So the illusion of the separate self arises, but it isn't actual because it's thought activity which means it's not real. Whats real is what remains no matter what. 

 

So seeing the illusion never actually was is just the thought activity ceasing.

 

Also, that mirror analogy was awesome.

Patterns of thought. There a problem  and it’s this… I have to solve the problem but I’m at a loss… emotional rollercoaster… … … … oh snap, there isn’t /wasn’t per se a problem, no wonder the thoughts felt off…. Relief…. Not stepping in the same hole again. Grand Central Station.

@Phil so the "mirror" is really just chronic thoughts about the separate self. Not responding to the mirror results in the mirror eventually not arising.

The mirror was analogous of perception being apparent. Thoughts are apparent too.

Perception being apparent isn’t illusory. Thoughts being apparent isn’t illusory.

Chronic is illusory. ‘Results in’ is illusory.

Oh okay gotcha, seems like a language barrier that's all. I used the word mirror to represent self referential thoughts arising being an illusion, like the self implied in them. And like you told me some time ago to recognize im already not in them. It's been tremendously helpful, not even helpful, beyond "helpful".  🙂
