I don't deal with people telling me what to do in my spiritual path, sorry, you aren't my authority and never will be.

This just sounded like a defensive and slightly cynical comment, even though before you literally told someone what to do on their spiritual path:

You aren't "A feeling", you are feeling itself only now. So feeling is unconditional, "good" ain't a condition but it sure is Good. If you demand to always feel good, you bypass feeling itself for demanding "A feeling" which is actually... a thought.Ā

    This is good stuff.

If you look "directly" at feeling, without categorizing (good feeling or bad feeling, anger, joy, fear, boredom... etc.) and without conceptualizing (this is a neurological state, this is hormones serotonin/dopamine) but directly into feeling right here now in actuality, what is it? What is feeling? Where does it come from? Does it have edges?

    Ā

Have you ever felt anything else than... Self?

No, I have never felt anything but the Self (even though I didn't always know that i am everything)

. Everything is me, everything is known by/as being. And no, of course I have no edges.

The mistake is in thinking that the source of this good feeling is found in the higher state or level. The SOURCE is you, prior to thoughts of levels.

@MandyĀ Makes sense, one question though; why then don't I always feel good? If I am the good feeling?

Am I somehow clouded by thoughts? And if so, shouldn't this clouding also be an illusion? Since there also can't be "clouded" vs "clear" or "degrees of clouding/clarity"?Ā

So what? There is utility beyond what's "actual".

Yes, but not if these ideas of levels and degrees are getting in the way.

  6. Life is so unbelievable complex, I don't even know where to beginĀ to tell you how absolutely and mind-bogglingly complex and sophisticated biological life is.Ā

On the one hand there's the macro-structures, the whole organism, running, swimming, flying or crawling around and doing it's thing, human beings, animals, plants, mushrooms, insects, bacteria, archaea, birds, mammals, fish, dinosaurs, the list would comprise hundreds upon hundreds of millions of living beings, and they're ALL so absolutely f*cking shopisticated biochemical machines, it's completely and indescribably insane. Each cell is so, so complicated, with millions of processes going on in each cell, and you have trillions of cells in your body, comprising this wonderful body that you are.

    Ā

The micro structure, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, is what I'm really talking about tho. Most people don't know anything about molecular biology and molecular physiology, but if they knew, they'd exclaim:

    HOLY F*CK!!!

Appreciate your body, Appreciate life. It's so god damn complex, and it works perfectly!! The biochemical pathways, the networks, the organization, there is no computer with enough computing power on earth that could ever come close to even mappingĀ  all of it. Just mapping it! I'm not even talking building a reproduction of even a single molcular machine like an enzyme like ATPase or some Polymerase, they are like ultra spohisticated nano-bots.

I have a degree in biology and caught myself during my studies multiple times wondering if creationists maybe do have a point. And I understand why so many people are simply not satisfied with normal reductionistic,Ā  mechanistic, materialistic explanations for evolution. It's just too damn sophisticated.

    Ā

The universe truly is infinitely intelligent. There's no other way. Mind-boggling.

no need imo, why not just...eat?

It's just in order to communicate preferences. Doesn't really have to do anything with identifying as a vegetarian/vegan/whatever.Ā

Most of us are hypocrites. I don't think that i would be able to kill an animal to eat it unless it was do or die but here i am buying that chicken that someone else killed because taste, health and comfort are more important to me.

Yeah... Reliable way for me to overcome this is by taking mushroomsšŸ˜‚ then I can't go into the super market and look at all the dead meat without feeling too much of a hypocrite, until I'm back to my normal, selfish, hypocritical selfšŸ™ƒĀ

Vegetarian. Really just for how it feels. Ate meat, bread, sugar etc when I was younger. This just relatively feels better.

@Phil Have you ever eaten meat because you felt like it? By "feels better", do you mean health wise or also in conjuction with compassion with animals?

  8. Thank god all people don't want to eat the same things!Ā

    1 hour ago, Orb said:

In all seriousness, diet turning into isms is a big misunderstanding, imo it should be encouraged that people discover what they want to eat for themselves simply based on how they feel.Ā

Yeah... But once you've chosen what you want to eat, you can classify it into an -ism.Ā

  9. What are your thoughts and opinions on what to eat and why? Are you omivore? Vegan? Vegetarian? Fruititarian? Or what?Ā

And why? I personally eat everything, because I had some trouble with weight loss during the last 2 years, so I can't be too picky with what I eat; on top of that I work out a lot (cardio) and need all the energy and nutrients I can get my paws on.

    Ā

I'd love to hear your opinions, this was inspired by a post made by @Orb

We kill animals and eat them sure, but it's deeper than that, it's really the movement of energy in the universe.Ā

Then what is meant by "awakening"....if everyone is awake, why do people use that word?

"Nobody is awake" as in: no person is awake. It's just another case of language limitation when it comes to talking about nonduality. No self to be awake, when awakening is the recognition of there not being any self to be either awake or not awake.

    10. Return to Society

    Barefooted and naked of breast,
I mingle with the people of the world.
My clothes are ragged and dust-laden,
    and I am ever blissful.
    I use no magic to extend my life;
Now, before me, the dead trees
    become alive.

Degrees and levels are real. It's a mistake to try to get rid of them. Spiritual bypassing, I believe it is called.

    They're not though. They're conceptual, not actual.Ā

"Higher" is a relational word of description, higher is only in relation to lower - which itself is only defined in terms of the "higher".Ā

    Ā

Haha you pretty much said the same thing in two different ways.Ā

What I meant is this: when I lay in the bathtub, it's pleasant, but not higher consciousness.Ā

But when I for example take mushrooms or meditate, I feel like I become more aware, or develop more clarity. And that there are degrees. And that's pleasant. But not the same thing as with enjoying a hot bath.Ā

  15. At first one thinks that enlightenment is a binary thing. Either your awake or not. Then one gets more sophisticated and starts thinking of enlightenment in terms of "degrees" and "levels", and that one can "deepen" ones awakening and become more and more enlightened.

    Ā

On a conceptual level, I understand that "more" and "less" are not real.Ā

    Ā

But I still feel that for example on some days, there is more clarity into a certain insight like no-self. And it feels like there's "less" ego.Ā

    Ā

How to get rid of "degrees" once and for all? Now obviously, when I look for "degrees" of consciousness during my meditation practice for example, I can't find any. But it still sometimes seems like there's more or less clarity/consciousness/etc.Ā

    Help?Ā

How do you reconcile compassion with "egomanical assholes" with the suffering they inflict on others? In other words, I'm sure you agree with me that hurting others isn't good, however innocent delusion/ignorance may be.Ā

    The Annihilations of Actual

The key problem with "leaders" is that they follow a pathway of matter, of energetic waves splashing over the cosmos, that bind, signify, and hierarchize minds into mindlessness, souls into soullessness, and societies into rigid decay of all held dear and true--in certain situations when that leader structure is limited in its understanding when correlating its own mind with the sub-minds of its own system. In other words, a leader's mind is the mind of their followers, all their individual minds becoming mere components, sub-minds, and consciousnesses devoid of truest individuality. In fact, leaders of narrow insight, of a paucity of understanding, reduce the followers' capacity for being individuals, actualized points that are distinct and developed from the rest of the system. They are made less actual and more abstract, where the leader is the only one left, the leader being the only being of actuality, the leaders being like vampires that suck this actual-ness away from others. That is why these systems fail inherently--because lack of understanding is not conducive to the collective, and we live where humans are not as developed as they could get to.

I think it's so funny that this is pretty much Leo's reasoning (although I'm sure that you're not Leo, which makes your post even more ironic), because this is precisely what happened with Actualized.org. Many people became rather mindless, indoctrinated followers of Leo. And then he speaks of "the dangers of false teachings and teachers who don't know how to run a community". Oh the irony...Ā
