  1. I don't believe in souls, I don't think emotions prove there's souls.
  2. People; the incessant deceit, it's almost worse than boldface lying because the subtler deceit is the more consideration you give it. You ever watch a movie about a third world country where they portray everyone as liars and crooks, well it's not much different in the u.s. it just looks different, the people don't knowingly deceive, they're deceived themselves and just regurgitate the garbage they've been fed. I'm not mad about emotions. I just want others to know about what I've found to appear to be true.
  3. Smiling is only a small part, the rest of it is at a much smaller level, like when your heart is broken your stomach even hurts, I don't know how to willfully control that, only smiling, that's why smiling was my example. I'm not saying you can control your emotions this way I'm just using them as an example to show they're physical Sensations. Like do you think pets have emotions, feel happy, anger, etc.. they don't think in words, it's physical sensations, almost on a cellular level, like energy moving( "E motion") through you, a vibration, etc... .
  4. Try these physical excercises, see if you feel happy and anger respectivily. Happy; smile, breath peacefully, relax your body and eyes Anger; scowl, tense up, barely breathe, tremble, increase pressure, short fast micro movements.
  5. What are the options of what emotions are? A.) Verbal thought, "I'm mad!" B.) Physical sensation; feeling heat, pressure, trembling.
  6. Those thoughts you're calling emotions are thoughts not emotions. Next time you feel a strong emotion notice it's a physical sensation. For example take Helen Keller, born deaf and blind, what's her emotions feel like? Scientific American www.scientificamerican.com Feeling Our Emotions Apr 1, 2005 — Damasio has strived to show that feelings are what arise as the brain interprets emotions, which are themselves purely physical signals of the You even physically smile, or scowl, or tremble and shake, scream, ..... Force a Smile right now, how do you feel?
  7. I could gain their approval or admiration It will make me happy It will make me not feel good I will hate it It would suck That's a waste of life My life is more important than that That's so boring That's pathetic That's a shame
  8. "Via the practice - stillness & the way of non is grasped, such as non-engagement"
  9. They're just empty blackholes, suck the joy right out of ya, it's so much better without them. It's like sticking your hand on a hot stove or not, it's not the perfect use of "joy", you might say the discordance is felt when with other people.
  10. Not only is there no joy in it, you can only lose joy from it.
  11. Adi Shankara, one of the great philosophers, says that gods (Devas) left the earth after becoming fed up with the demands of the human beings. They lost their character and made too many demands and so the Devas vacated the earth, says Shankara The Buddha was born Siddhartha Gautama, a prince of the Sakya tribe of Nepal, in approximately 566 BC. When he was twentynine years old, he left Genesis 12:1 - Bible Gateway God told Abram: “Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you. MEV. Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country Genesis 19:12-29 NLT “Hurry,” they said to Lot. “Take your wife and your two daughters who are here. Get out right now, or you will Luke 4:42-43 In-Context 42 At daybreak Jesus left the town and went off to a lonely place. The people started looking for him, and when they found him, they tried to keep him from leaving.
  12. Emotion is just Energy in motion, there's no soul in it, no different than a tree growing toward sunlight, river flowing downhill, volcano erupting, thunderstorm,... predictable. Notice emotions are just a physical sensation, energy.
  13. I don't see how you can view people as something different than animals, people are completely predictable, completely emotional not logical, people do not have souls, they're not even different than plants let alone animals.
  14. I wish people could see how empty what they're chasing is, this weekend I was at a party for a capital group, and an actual nice group, nice people, but even their lives are empty, the head guy lives on a ranch and vineyard in California and barely works in his 60s, the rest of the executives are established 50+ and I still feel no life confidence or fulfillment in them, it does nothing for you, you work an entry level job, have a small house in a quiet little town and go jog or whatever at the park and you can be multiple times more fulfilled with life than these guys. Joy is joy
  15. Society is not the coming together or cooperation of people, it's separation. These people do not give love to one another, all it is is parasitic or mutual relationships of utility and futility, fear really, fear based relationships that feed the fear, not threat of physical harm usually but social or fear of need. I think the biggest and most critical thing is walking away from people, finding joy without others, then never going too far back out of balance once you get your bearings. Most people will likely never find another soul to have communion with which is not a problem, that doesn't mean not to look but it does mean not vesting your peace in any sort of prerequisite like that. I have to get away from people, everyone, it's just the only way I've found possible to maintain any sort of peace and happiness. People suck, you should never try to get happiness from people, they don't have it, the only time you should spend with people is if you're trying to give away happiness, and for me that means not much time with people.
  16. Yeah to me it's like chasing a lie, and not just for no good reason, but to their detriment because the only good sex is when there is a good emotional connection between the partners. Porn watchers just keep chasing a lie they'll never catch all while passing up on the good stuff, and yeah they turn to crazier and crazier stuff and homosexuality.
  17. @DMT Elf I'm a male, I love sex, I watched porn when I was a kid, I find porn abhorrent now.
  18. I don't watch porn, or trip, I unhighly recommend it. 👍
  19. Everyone I've known that watches porn has seemed to be screwed up sexually and relationally. Porn doesn't make sense, it's like watching other people play sports, but even worse because good sex is emotion based, unsurprisingly the same people tend to watch both.
  20. @Orb Ouroboros - Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouroboros "One of the earliest known ouroboros motifs is found in the Enigmatic Book of the Netherworld, an ancient Egyptian funerary text in KV62, the tomb of Tutankhamun, in the 14th century BCE. The famous ouroboros drawing from the early alchemical text, The Chrysopoeia of Cleopatra (Κλεοπάτρας χρυσοποιία), probably originally dating to the 3rd century Alexandria, but first known in a 10th-century copy, encloses the words hen to pan (ἓν τὸ πᾶν), "the all is one". An early example of an ouroboros (as a purely artistic representation) was discovered in China, on a piece of pottery in the Yellow River basin. The jar belonged to the neolithic Yangshao culture which occupied the area along the basin from 5000 to 3000 BCE.[13]"
  21. I always thought the Socratic Method, Socrates always asking "how do you know?", echoed maybe not non duality, but nothingness or infinity. But it is a bit non dual, pretty Phil-ish at least.
