    Agree with what you mean. However, I would rather call it grounded happiness, confidence or something like that.

     

    On the emotional scale there is "positive expectations, belief, optimism"

     

    Belief is where suffering arises, because it is always believing thoughts. Expectations is the same. Optimism is related to the future, too.

  2. I have used the counter to track all my thoughts and reactions when I am on my way to the gym.

     

    By clicking, one is moderated or conditioned to be more attentive. And it's easier to condition yourself to let go.

     

    In addition, you know how many thoughts you have in, say, a 5 minute meditation and can get a better awareness of the monkey mind. You can also make a meditation out of taking the counter for 5 minutes and just clicking once on each thought.

  3. You can't help them, unless they ask you for help.

     

    It's also presumptuous and selfish to try to do that. You can try to see happy people in them by focusing on their positive experiences.

    Growing up I always been asked this, by my parents and grandparents constantly. I believe it got me to start framing things in that way. Took a bit to reframe. Last time my grandma said this to me I asked her “Why don’t you ask me what is right?” 😄
     

    Chronic worrying runs in the family it seems, they always seem to be in the mindset of problems that need to be fixed, and if their isn’t one relatively then they make one up. Why can’t it be a joy to tidy the house, or tend to the garden? It is an art, all of it is the practice, every action. Not saying I am a fountain of joy all the time, but it is about what is focused upon, what is being moved towards. 
     

    I feel as if they are constantly on a downward spiral, focused upon discordant things. It seemed like a constant struggle living with them, constantly attempting to maintain a stable state so I didn’t spiral down into the same mess. 
     

    How does one maintain equanimity well going through the motions of life? 
     

    The master is never balanced, they are constantly balancing with what is going on.

     

    I’d like to hear about any shifts that anyone has gone through that brought them to a more equanimous state well in action.
    Is there anything you like to remind yourself of to bring yourself back into Being? 
    Any quick practices, or processes you go through when you notice yourself going into a downward spiral? 
    And your thoughts on how to deal with people who tend towards pessimistic ways of thinking. 

    Not responding or reacting at all to anything, which doesn't feel good to you. Do this everytime, unless you are forced to in reality, like they make serious threats.

     

    What then happens at the beginning, is that they probably feel like they have lost control over you. And they want to get it back with all means. So you must persist in any case. This is the only way out.

     

    If you are over the mountain, they will change their behaviour, because they have to.

  6. Emotion guidance is not based on setting the intention for yourself or God that you should return to the truth. Or to feel good.

     

    There is nothing but truth and you are truth, so untruth does not feel good because it cannot exist. It is the supposed existence of something that does not exist at all. Of course, it doesn't feel good.

     

    Something feels good when it is in harmony with itself. So the truth with the truth. Because true is simply that which cannot be believed or known because it is true.

     

    And this isn't meant to sound like a calendar slogan or to make you feel better. It's about realizing the obvious and realizing that it's easy to do. It seems hard when you take unnecessary detours.

  7. Paying attention to what is true in the literally sense is the key.

     

    It is not about enlightenment, it is about the insight that believing things that are false is silly.

     

    It is often the case that "spiritual teachers" or whatever communicate things and you feel like you are about to fall asleep.

    Their style of communication often times makes everything seem fuzzy and "spiritual" and creates the feeling as if they were some miraculous beings capable of magic.

     

    In reality, they are like better scientists or LGBTQ+ debunkers. It's about inspecting whether something is true or not.

  8. A "non-dual" experience is often described as "becoming one" or "merging" with the environment.

    This is not true. The focus expands and the attention is on what is perceived. The attention is no longer centered on something. This is because nothing is believed at that moment.

  9. Thought is like small electrical impulses floating around with no electrical charge.

     

    If one believes they have content, they become significant, they would be charged, because one would believe that one is the thinker. One would believe they would be more than thought.

     

    It could be like destroying ones own castle one has put so much effort in. But not even that is true, one just believed it. It is almost like recognizing one is a robot. But a sentient living one with no shape or appearance of any kind. 

  10. Non duality is not about there is a me and a you or polarities in general. 

     

    It is about creating the believe of being something you aren’t and therefore projecting yourself into that believe.

     

    Because, if it wouldn't be the case, there would be no non duality. That means you wouldn't believe the thought non duality, because nobody would believe it. 

  11. If you recognize the primal nature of the feeling you have, if someone startles you, feeling urgent etc.

     

    The opposite feeling of this is clear mindedness. This is the basis of recognizing activites, like the creation of feelings.
