What is collective conditioning?

Is it like a spiral dynamics thing? Innocently created set of beliefs? Is it a result of survival / societal systems like culture, monarchy, capitalism to make people work together?

 

Or is it from the past when infinity appeared on this planet as humans and forgot it's infinitude and got confused?

 

Or is it overlords manipulating the system and people to gain power for their own ends?

I think it's more like the crap (discord) you "learned" somewhere around grades 3-5 or earlier about cool kids, value, achievement, possessions and how they might reflect on their owner, and how to avoid being made fun of or scolded. Then the same nasty feeling separate self assumptions get played out or further ignored in war, relationships, business and politics.

@Phil So does that mean that the dude who sees the water in the desert and is a total idiot and chases after it is the ACTUAL illusion, not the water? 😲 The idiot is the only illusion. The misunderstander, not the misunderstanding?

For sure. The mirage in the desert is an appearance. The understander of mirage & desert is illusory.

That's the sticking point though, "I'm the idiot. I can't be the idiot! It HAS TO BE WATER. I won't stop!" Thus, keeping up appearances.
