I love weed, but it brings me out of alignment

Hey peeps!

I've noticed that the less weed I smoke, the better and more aligned I feel.

The more I smoke, the more brain-fog I have. That leads to less clarity, scattered thought processes (more so than sober; the opposite would be 'thinking straight'), and trouble finding words (simply not remembering them when needed).

Less clarity -> less alignment -> feeling worse.

I got my life pretty much 'under control', so it has no negative side effects in terms of productivity or doing stuff or something like that. I have a cool job, doing fine in uni, making lots of music, skateboarding, going out, and whatnot. But the less clarity aspect of it is really bugging me.

I guess the only solution is to quit for good, but damn, I really love the herb.

Any thoughts/perspectives on this?

@Lotus You can research maybe other cannabinoids that can help you in daily life? Theres a LOT of different cannabinoids in the weed plant, some are super medicinal (CBD,CBG,CBC, etc.) some are nearly as strong as psychedelics (THC-O, edibles), or some are just fun to get high on (D8-THC, D9-THC, etc.).

You dont have to let go of the cannabis plant, you can try a different medicine from it, maybe taking cbd on a daily basis and every once in a while taking some THC recreationally?

What do you think would work for you?

Plants are food and medicine. There are thousands... millions of different kinds of healing plants. Yet very few of us venture out beyond a few as foods and medicine. Pot, coffee, corn, wheat, etc, are things people often engage with as if they are stuck in a rut. etc. Tap into your intuition and go toward what is really calling you. Plants talk back.

@Lotus just got a really good cbd vape cartridge from the company called 3Chi.

I highly suggest looking into this company, their products are high quality and tested.

The cbd vapes taste just like weed with the terpenes and all, but you get the benefits of cbd and some other healthy cannabinoids instead.

Also, CBD tends to have the opposite effects of weed, I'd research it if I were you. But I think cbd can actually speed up recovery from chronic thc use.

@Orb I'd love to try out all the different varieties, but due to the legal status of where I live, this isn't possible for me. At least for the THC containing products. And with the CBD, I tried replacing normal joints for CBD joints, but that wasn't really working for me. I mean, I felt the relaxing effects of the CBD, but it wasn't worth to damage my lungs for it (questionable if it's worth for THC either) and I actually preferred to stay sober - though the relaxation aspect is cool, CBD makes me really tired. I never tried out different kinds of CBD, though. Maybe I should do that.

@Mandy That's really inspiring. I first learned that an apricot is not an apricot when I ate one from our garden. A whole different experience in comparison to the bought ones. When this plant told me one thing, it was to stop smoking weed. 🤦‍♂️

My mother has an old book about healing plants. Time to dig it up from the basement!

Thank you both! 🙏

@LotusEither ways fine, if you prefer going full "sober" or not.

If you wanna try cbd, look for brands that are legitimate. A LOT of brands can use extraction methods that dull cbds full effects.

You can find a high quality cbd oil cartridge and vape. I bring up vaping only because it helps to keep that smoking weed feel and it takes only like 10 minutes for the full effects to kick in.

I was shocked yesterday, because I was craving nicotine and feeling a bit cranky. Then I took a few hits of cbd and like 10-15 minutes later my cravings were completely gone and I was in a really good mood. Like no anxiety and laughing, but the awesome part is that it all felt "natural" and didn't feel like I was high.

@Orb CBD in a joint never worked for me. I also never liked to vape ‚normal weed’.

The combo I never had was vaping + CBD. I‘ll give it a try when any craving arises!

My first time smoking CBD surprised me as well. I felt super relaxed, yet very clear headed. I‘d actually prefer that to a normal weed smoke sometimes.

I also feels it interferes with "subtle processing", that intuitive edge.

You should think of taking hedonic drugs the same way as eating cake. It gives you good feelings without requiring any meaningful activity preceding it, and in a way, it teaches you to be less resilient. Going to the gym, completing some complicated task or having an intellectual insight also lead to good feelings, but it requires pushing your system to the limit and discovering new ground, and the good feeling is a meaningful measurement of that. Quitting all drugs and hyper-stimulating foods (e.g. cake), limiting porn consumption and of course working out, in sum total, is itself a high.
