Last essential Western Philosophy video from my point of view and taste.  You can see a similarity to Zen in the Ancient Western Skeptics.  "Hellenistic Philosophy" is Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy after Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.  Hellenistic Philosophy includes: Epicureanism, Stoicism, Skepticism, and Neo-Platonism.

This could almost be a standalone Intro to Western Philosophy video on its own.  I love this video.

This is one of the best Medieval Western Philosophy videos that I've seen (more accurately heard).  Augustine (c. 354-430 A.D.)

The idea that (1) Philosophy and (2) Religion/Spirituality are divorced in Western Philosophy is an ignorant myth.

Great intro to Islamic Philosophy in Medieval Western Philosophy:

Medieval Western Philosophy is all about integrating Theos (God) and Logos (Knowledge) = Theology.

Islamic Philosophy is an important area of Medieval Western Philosophy.

Muhammad (570 - 632 A.D.)

Al-Kindi (c. 801 - 873 A.D.)

Al-Farabi (c. 872 - 950 A.D.)

Ibn Sina (Avicenna) (980 - 1037 A.D.)

Al-Ghazali (1058 - 1111 A.D.)

Ibn Rushd (Averroes) (1126 - 1198 A.D.)

This is another great standalone Intro to Western Philosophy video -- with emphasis on the transition between Medieval and Modern Western Philosophy.  ('Scholastics' is a term that signifies European Medieval Philosophers/Christian Theologians with a kind of Rationalistic bent.)

It would be incomplete to leave Stoicism out of the great schools of Western Philosophy.  You can see how Stoicism seems kinda influenced by Taoism and Chinese Philosophy, but the Pantheism seems to be influenced by Indian Philosophy.  Stoicism seems to be an integration of Western, Indian, and Chinese Philosophy.

This is probably the best intro to Stoicism video I've been exposed to.

Logos is one of those words that changes a lot depending on the philosopher.

Here is a good account of the term Logos from ChatGPT:

The Boys.

Ego, bloated self-image, insecurity, arrogance, narcissism, revenge, trauma, violence etc.

Homelander might be a good reflection of this "being a teacher" stuff.
