The amount of denial and defensiveness of pornography is astounding. I'm not saying you have to quit porn, but to completely deny that it has damaging effects is just as foolish as trying to make everyone quit. It's blind defensiveness. But in my experience I have gone through a lot of the symptoms of porn addiction detailed in that video. It's also annoying when I speak out about it and people think I'm coming from a place of moralization or think i'm a religious nut. Also, if you're in my generation and you've watched porn since a young age like 10-12 years old, you may not even notice that you're addicted to pornography, or that you have twisted notions about sex or sexual dysfunctions, I may be wrong but just putting that out there. It's hard to tell a behavior is problematic if you've done it since you were a child, which pretty much our generation has started watching porn from a young age. So certain dysfunctional behaviors can be rooted in porn addiction, but they don't even realize it's bc of the porn addiction, they just think it's them. Porn doesn't make sense, it's like watching other people play sports, but even worse because good sex is emotion based, unsurprisingly the same people tend to watch both. Another dark secret most porn watchers don't admit is that due to the dopamine system being screwed up and needing more extreme/unusual content to get the same high, sexual preferences begin to shift usually to more rough content and also even shift toward different sexual orientations. Nothing wrong with any sexual orientation, but if it stems from porn use it could mean the brain is literally burned out of dopamine. Also most people in my generation watched porn since childhood so they may have developed certain preferences due to porn addiction but not even notice it was because of the addiction, they just think it's their own natural preferences. Yeah to me it's like chasing a lie, and not just for no good reason, but to their detriment because the only good sex is when there is a good emotional connection between the partners. Porn watchers just keep chasing a lie they'll never catch all while passing up on the good stuff, and yeah they turn to crazier and crazier stuff and homosexuality.
