Orb
I had a deep trip (I'll make a report maybe later on it) on a psychedelic and my biggest sticking point on the path came up, fundamentally its impulsivity. When cravings come up, I'm so used to appeasing them, I noticed that if I appease my own cravings then I will appease other people and not form healthy boundaries. How do I let go of cravings? Maybe meditation during cravings? Observing the cravings? I had this full blown trip that was super deep, but then I went back to porn and food that didn't feel too good a few hours later lol. Ah! I forgot about the technique I posted on here lol. Maybe combining that with mindful breathing will help end this once and for all. Cathal
You just let go by letting go of the craving to let go of craving and you may actually let go. The confidence and faith comes from practicing that and seeing you are so much more peaceful and happy returning to the reality of this present moment than the cravings of your imagination. You have to have more desire to ignore the craving than to appease it. Sometimes it takes enough suffering from the results of appeasing a particular craving for you to finally have more desire to ignore the craving than the power the craving has over you. But when this balance tips, the craving gets weaker. And the more you don't appease the craving, the less power it will have, until ultimately it will vanish. You may get a new craving at some point, but that one will go away. Edited November 26, 2022 by Robed Mystic Quote Mention
Phil
@Orb Spend a few days alone in the woods. No snacks, no wifi, no electronics. You’ll free great and it’ll be clearer that great feeling isn’t coming from those activities. Self reflect. 🤍 On 11/6/2022 at 4:27 PM, Orb said: I had this full blown trip that was super deep, but then I went back to porn and food that didn't feel too good a few hours later lol. Trips momentarily part the clouds. Un-inspected thoughts, un-dispelled beliefs, clouds veiling the truth of where good feeling is coming from persist. Time alone in nature won’t even require inspection or dispelling. It’ll naturally just happen without the distractions, like boredom is the natural result of non-distraction, non-deflection & non-projection… or aversion from… pessimism.
