Orb Posted May 13, 2022 Share Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) In meditation, thoughts arise no matter what, it's not as bothersome because there is no one who can actually observe thoughts, but self referential thoughts arise out of nowhere and from no one. Why does the ocean appear as self referential thoughts? What is the point of doing anything if the ocean keeps appearing as thoughts? The ocean appears as thoughts, the ocean has all the power and is the only one that can stop appearing as thoughts. Anything "I" do is actually not true and just another appearance, so nothing can be done. Why not just sit and be confused? The wave can realize it's the ocean, not by worshipping the ocean or meditating on the ocean, but by realizing its not a wave, then ocean is the wave and the wave is the ocean.
