The awareness trap

people often talk about awareness but honestly i highly resonate what's being said it this video ^.

@Phil is that another "map is not the territory" thing?

In direct experience there's no such thing as awareness apart from sound, sensations, perception, thought, smell, taste, right?

So even to say "awarness is aware of thoughts" it's like adding something on top of experience.

Bahiya sutra:

"In the seen, there is only the seen,
in the heard, there is only the heard,
in the sensed, there is only the sensed,
in the cognized, there is only the cognized.
Thus you should see that
indeed there is no thing here;
this, Bahiya, is how you should train yourself.
Since, Bahiya, there is for you
in the seen, only the seen,
in the heard, only the heard,
in the sensed, only the sensed,
in the cognized, only the cognized,
and you see that there is no thing here,
you will therefore see that
indeed there is no thing there.
As you see that there is no thing there,
you will see that
you are therefore located neither in the world of this,
nor in the world of that,
nor in any place
between the two.
This alone is the end of suffering.

Just completely let go everything, every thought, idea, belief etc. Whatever left is what the Truth is that's all.

it's true.  Sometimes it's super obvious it's just "this".    But i don't understand why so many people talk about awarness on the top of it, it's like adding something.

Yes, it is adding something and has nothing to with truth. Imagine birth till now, what you have gained you will completely let go at the end, and that death. So what is left, Thats you. It is no obvious, it is hidden within silence.

What are people? That would be rather important before what people say.

Are people saying awareness is on top of this, or are you hearing it that way?

Rupert Spira comes to mind, often talking about awareness. Never heard anything but that awareness is most prior. Even ‘this’, whatever ‘this’ is, is awareness aware of the reference of - ‘this’?

How is map differentiated from territory?

Yes.

No.

What’s aware of yes and no?

What’s meant by experience, and what’s aware of experience?

When you contemplate awareness, what comes to mind?

What’s aware of… the awareness trap?

What are the odds of posting this video this morning, and seeing this thread shortly after?

Coincidence… synchronistic? Idk.

Isn’t it just a bit weird that in all honesty you don’t know anything about awareness and aren’t aware of what awareness is… while awareness is aware of this?
