How come we forget we are enlightened?

All there is is consciousness though we take our’selves’ very seriously and become unconscious shortly after we are born. How come we forget we are enlightened? And why is it so hard to ’attain’ it again?

Guilt and fear follows the thought of separation and forgetting. So we build defenses, thinking our Home is death, punishment etc. When it's actually boundless joy and peace.

The answer would be in uncovering the assumptions in the questions, by comparing the questions (thoughts) to direct or actual experience. 

 

Is there an experience of we forget?

 

Is there an experience of we are enlightened?

 

Is there an experience of consciousness becoming unconscious?

 

Is there an experience of unconscious becoming consciousness?

 

Is there an experience of attaining enlightenment? 

 

Is there an experience of people becoming enlightened?

 

 

 

Is there an experience of beliefs?

 

Is there an experience of beliefs turning out to be, beliefs (not indicative of direct experience) ?

 

Is there an experience of becoming something or someone else, when beliefs are recognized to be, beliefs?
