Phil
@judy Is anyone else blaming you? Quote Mention YouTube Website Sessions
Enlightened Cat
11 hours ago, judy said: How did you stop? By noticing that thoughts appear and disappear. And noticing how that feels. Our thoughts keep pointing to time, but they don't actually feel like what they're pointing to. That's the contradiction. Thoughts are felt now, but they say "no, I'm not happening now!" You ever forget something, and then remember it, and then suddenly feel stressed about it, despite nothing changing in experience? What's going on there? It's less of a "stopping", more of a "noticing" of occurrences like above. "Stress" feels like the effort to change what you are now, which is the belief in time. Clarity is noticing that you are always what you are now and have never been anything else. Edited August 13 by Enlightened Cat Quote Mention Describe a thought. Someone specific is blaming you for something specific. Yes or no? There are two of you, one blaming the other. Yes or no? Do you experience tension & pain in the neck, shoulders, or back, fatigue / exhaustion / low energy, digestive issues, headaches / migraines or shallow breathing / tightness of chest / asthma? Doesn’t sound like anyone’s blaming you for anything. 1 hour ago, judy said: but also it's mostly myself. Are there two of you (one blaming the other). Yes or no. Or, is blame an emotion which is felt when you experience certain thoughts? Yes or no. Quote Mention YouTube Website Sessions
Phil
23 minutes ago, judy said: yes why is that so? In short, emotion is guidance for thoughts. More deeply, because you’re appearing as the thoughts. 23 minutes ago, judy said: what types of thoughts cause me to feel blame Separate selves at fault. 23 minutes ago, judy said: and what is its function? Clarity. 23 minutes ago, judy said: there was a situation a few days ago where i felt like someone was blaming me and it resulted in me feeling quite bad and engaging in a self-destructive type of behaviour. Edited 1 minute ago by judy Blame is an emotion. It’s how thoughts feel. If blame is felt, it’s not coming from someone else. Phil
2 hours ago, judy said: So is there always a fundamental misunderstanding when blame is felt? Yes. 2 hours ago, judy said: Or isn't it sometimes ("objectively") necessary to feel blame, even without there being a misunderstanding about a separate self? No. Quote Mention YouTube Website Sessions
Phil
18 minutes ago, judy said: @Phil so hypothetically, a person could kill someone, go to prison, and suddenly something in their head changes and they don't blame themselves at all? Yes. 18 minutes ago, judy said: isn't it sort of psychopathic to do something bad and refuse to feel guilty afterwards? No. Quote Mention YouTube Website Sessions
