It was the early 90s and I didn't think of it as anything but being cool since Kurt cobain was wearing makeup and dresses on stage sometimes, and the whole 60s nostalgia look was happening. I got to explore it later and everything, but just the idea being planted early on that people would think they failed as parents if I acted or looked as "weird" as I was inclined to stuck always as something.
