This is how I taught myself to think about emotions, they are a brain's way to make the body aware of their situation currently evolvinging forward evolving uniquely alive. There is no language within a body having all its organs functioning simultaneously here and be able to navigate between everyone and natural conditions one's body is adapting to outside its own skin.
There was a need to bodies to communicate being alive sharing time between birth and dead. That is why humanity exists on the intellectual plane while occupying time as inhabiting space uniquely here.
How many ancestors except genetics eternally separates each lifetime of the food chain native to this atmosphere or any other in any other solar system or galaxies existing in this time space is specifically divided as universally here, evolving spontaneously present simultaneously since either combined molecular content or compounded chromosomes results as ancestrally positioned now?
Trust me when I say, I haven't talked to another brain navigating time like now is eternity. The irony of life in plain sight. Everyone needs a sense of humor.

Emotions are tricky if one doesn't navigate them instinctively when living proportionately alive in plain sight. Balancing between the two 4 letter words of love and hate is like living on a rotating planet revolving around a star where there is light, twilight, night, dawn, winter, spring, summer, fall.
Emotions vs passion, which is the action and the other reaction? Compare that to want and need with rhetorical questions each person's brain has to solve on their own to be centered in the time they get being alive as uniquely here occupying space now. Does one want to be needed or is one needed to be wanted?
Each lifetime has a separate point of origin. Each family unit fit in one ancestral lineage. Each ancestral lineage has its own point of origin all coming from sharing time collectively alive relative to their lifecycle when living between sharing common event horizons.
Emotions are reactions with adapting in space uniquely here and passions are reactions to those emotions surrounded by lifetimes having their unique time living same way, same time, mutual situation, separately taking place.
Individual needs and wants to social wants and needs. How to balance is simple but never easy for anyone in this situation of life limits options to never exceed how and why one is here in the first place as specifically what, where, when, which generation gap, one is here between everyone else between inception and extinction of oneself, one's siblings, cousins, friends, people sharing space at the same time.
Then there are parents, siblings, cousins, friends, people sharing time. Expand this to grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends, people sharing time.
The more people, the less options one has to do whatever they feel like doing out of respect for everyone is limited to adapting in their time occupying space now.
So here everyone alive is specifically alive occupying time inhabiting space in their conceived ancestral position counting rotations of the planet since birth hoping for better days ahead than one has achieved adapting here now as part of the whole population alive.
The necessity to put limitations on intellectual ideas that go beyond living in this adapt or become extinct moment. Occupying space for the time one has specifically here since conceived and currently 8 billion humans inhabiting space specifically one of a kind geographically here regardless the history of their social franchise.
I empathize with every brain standing alone against all the alternate realities and parallel universes of interpretation by "people" colonizing around conceptual traditional faiths intellect is a higher form of evolution, but it is just a natural part of evolving with genetics eternally separating the lifetimes occupying space now.
I have big dreams, large fantasies, want more than what I am willing to do to get it. See I empathize with your emotions intellectually and instinctively it doesn't change between male or female positions as each body is just a half life replacement of their previous generations.

Way back when I was 7 years old I learned the phrase, "Yesterday's tomorrow is being alive today in life's only rule was adapt to the moment or become extinct.". Goes along with the "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, survive everything between leaving the womb before entering one's tomb.".
Equal time sharing same atmosphere every member of one's ancestral lineage adapted in previously, same as any of one's children living longer than their previous generations. How living goes forward regardless the alternate realities present.
Turning the other cheek, is a person refusing to take sides and ends up facing two sides fighting with each other become allies to eliminate the person not picking sides.

Maybe a part of feeling undeserving stems from the above incidents.
Respect is given, not acquired upon command even though in every society, ancestries are required by rule of law to respect those governing tomorrows arriving as happening today. It is an intellectual catch 22 thing this species does within itself and the practiced used in every society doesn't end well as history recorded to date.
Unconditional love is respect. Conditional love requiring compromise becomes tyranny in social circles with a chain of command controlling multiple generations same way ancestry is never same ancestors again.

Put another way, these thoughts expressed are labels expressed. Thought labels, upon, perception.
As these thoughts are believed, indeed it seems like there is, absolute and relative truth.
As these thoughts are not believed, it’s very obvious that “absolute & relative truth” is, a thought, and is not, truth.
This recognition leave room for the truth, being that which is aware of, these thoughts.
Or most simply put - awareness.
Put another way… 2 is not truth, addition is not truth, 4 is not truth, cat is not truth, c, a & are not truth.
Awareness, The Truth, is aware of these apparent thoughts, 2, addition, 4, cat, c, a, and t.
These shared thoughts are collectively agreed upon. That doesn’t equate to true or truth.
There is an experience of learning and agreeing that 2 + 2 = 4, and cat is spelled c a t, just as there is an experience of meaning.
Such as, that the thought & sound “two”, means, 1 and 1, and so on.
Agreeing does not mean, believing or believed.
That is, there is an experience of these thoughts and the meaning therein… yet… an experience of, is not at all the same as these thoughts, and this meaning - being believed.
The specific agreeance is that these thoughts define or represent, a separate thing or object of - perception.
That there is separation, as in separate things or objects is in actuality - a belief.
Thus there is, spiritual misleadership, which does not require a leader, as in - a separate self, any more than the weather requires a weatherman.
That there is a need for a weatherman as it pertains to there being an experience of weather, or a spiritual teacher as it pertains to truth, would be a great example of confusion, about truth being dualistic, as in absolute and relative. In terms of spiritual misleadership, this is a great example of awareness, through the lens awareness is being, purporting to be offering clarity, when in fact confused & offering confusion, and therein there is experientially, manipulation & deception, or, spiritual misleadership.
Awareness aware of awareness, as is, already - is without manipulation & deception, as innocence is - absolute.
C.A.T is a literal interpretive truth. 2 + 2 = 4 is a figurative interpretive truth. Feline defines many breeds of cats. 2 is an integer representing numbers of something and a second integer 2 is another representing numbers and the combined 4 is a total sum of what 2 plus 2 is literally describing between people's brains communicating with each other about life, past, present, plans to reach when evolving forward together at the same time relative time of occupying space happens between everyone living here now.
I just described 6 degrees of separation spontaneously working simultaneously at the same time for everything existing currently existing living as positioned in every reality.
What I am reading in your post is the principles from something I heard from the Dalai Lama few decades ago about relative, literal, figurative truths. That goes beyond duality and no self self.
It is from those 3 principle axioms I created these origami figures to represent the framework of Philosophy, Psychology, Physics of Compounding evolving between the natures of molecular characteristics bonding into forms universally present and life in ancestral positions occupying space in series parallel time evolving as occupying time here now.

first is a 2 dimensional map second is a two sided form with a separate inside from outside spheres of influence.
