Reactivity, Interpretation, Investigation & Meditation.

Prior to adopting the practice of daily meditation it seems thought is experienced reactively, as in a thought arises as is presumed to be true. Meditation slows reactivity, allowing ‘space’ for consideration, questioning & investigation as to the validity of thoughts in terms of truth and the actuality of non-conceptualized direct experience.

While there is no substitute for the practice of meditation, here are some images which point in a ‘before’ and ‘after’ sense.

Feel free to add any you happen to come across.

Thanks!

A man camping alone in the woods at night in the 1960’s kept hearing the sound of a girl saying ‘help me’. As he walked toward the voice in darkness so thick he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face, he used the flash on his camera to see the path. Though he never saw the girl, he later saw the photograph that was taken.
